SeekAR
FIFA World Cup 26™ Dallas Fan Activation
How The Dallas World Cup Experience — SeekAR's city-wide AR scavenger hunt — turned Dallas–Fort Worth into a playable city and drove fans to 44 partner venues during FIFA World Cup 26™.

Overview & Background
During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, SeekAR partnered with the North Texas FWC Organizing Committee to deliver The Dallas World Cup Experience — a city-wide augmented reality scavenger hunt across Dallas–Fort Worth. Over 63 days spanning all nine Dallas match days, 246 AR collectibles (match balls, trophies, mascots, and branded drops) were geo-anchored at 44 partner venues, from the FIFA Fan Festival™ at Fair Park to restaurants, attractions, and retail across the metroplex. Fans discovered collectibles on a live map, walked to each location, captured them in AR, and unlocked real rewards from partner businesses. The result: measurable, location-verified foot traffic and repeat engagement that ran the full length of the tournament — all measured in-app by the SeekAR platform.
Use Cases & Applications
What this means for brands: SeekAR turns a sponsorship into a measurable, physical funnel. Fans discover your location on the map, walk to it, engage with branded AR for 12+ seconds, and leave with an offer in their wallet. Every step is reportable by venue, by day, and by hour — views, visits, time spent, captures, rewards, and redemptions. Partners in the Dallas activation spanned attractions (Reunion Tower, Dallas CityPASS), sports venues (Formation at The Star, Cowboys Fit, FC Dallas), wellness (WorldSprings), retail (Solepack, Messi Fragrance at Ulta Beauty), and hospitality — proof the model works across categories for city-wide campaigns, sports activations, retail foot-traffic programs, and tourism experiences.
The Challenge
Mega-events generate massive attention, but sponsors and local partners rarely get a clear line from awareness to verified visits. The North Texas host community needed an activation that could span AT&T Stadium match days, the FIFA Fan Festival™ at Fair Park, and dozens of partner businesses across DFW — without relying on impressions alone. The experience had to be frictionless for fans (scan, download, play), precise enough that every capture proved a physical visit, and measurable by venue, day, and hour so partners could see real ROI.
Our Solution
SeekAR turned Dallas–Fort Worth into a playable city. Geo-anchored World Cup collectibles appeared on a live in-app map at 54 mapped locations. Fans launched AR on-site, captured branded content, and earned partner rewards tied to verified captures — not passive impressions. A staffed booth inside the official FIFA Fan Festival™ Dallas fan zone walked fans through the hunt, local discounts, and app download in one stop. Campaign creative across the fan zone put a QR code in fans' hands: scan, download, and the city becomes the game board. Activation clusters ran from Fair Park and Downtown Dallas to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, The Star in Frisco, Grandscape in The Colony, and McKinney — putting 20+ DFW brands on every fan's map.
Technical Implementation
SeekAR is a CMS-powered AR platform that geo-anchors digital assets to real-world coordinates and delivers scavenger hunts through mobile. For the Dallas activation, admins deployed 246 custom World Cup collectibles with location rules, partner reward logic, and live analytics. Fans moved from map discovery to AR camera to capture to wallet reward in a single funnel — each step instrumented in-app. The platform tracked views, AR sessions, on-location captures, rewards earned, photos, shares, and redemptions by venue and by hour. Captures ramped 10× when the FIFA Fan Festival™ opened on June 11 and peaked at 204 in a single day on June 15, the day after the Netherlands–Japan opener at AT&T Stadium. Play concentrated in prime venue hours between 10 AM and 8 PM local, with weekends leading the week.
Marketing &
Engagement Strategy
On the ground presence was central. The SeekAR booth at FIFA Fan Festival™ Dallas (Fair Park) was featured by the official Dallas host account (@fwc26dallas) alongside @seekarofficial. QR-led creative across the fan zone converted foot traffic into downloads. The FIFA Fan Festival™ Dallas collectible alone drove 246 earned rewards — the top location overall. Dallas Innovates covered the launch as "Frisco-Built SeekAR Turns North Texas Into a World Cup Scavenger Hunt," highlighting a Frisco-built AR platform developed with the North Texas FWC Organizing Committee and sending World Cup fans to local businesses across DFW.
Results & Impact
Measured in-app from May 27 – July 29, 2026: • 8,247 AR collectible views from 605 unique fans browsing the map • 7,894 AR sessions launched — 96% of viewers opened AR • 2,585 AR captures by 377 fans on location (each capture is a verified visit) • 1,536 partner rewards earned by 366 fans across 20+ DFW brands • 44 partner venues and 54 mapped locations across Dallas–Fort Worth • 88% of players were new to SeekAR; 64% captured more than once • 6.9 average captures per player; 12.3 seconds average time in AR per interaction • 532 social moments (278 AR photos + 254 shares) • 63 days live across all 9 Dallas match days One in three AR sessions ended in a capture. Fifty-nine percent of captures converted into a partner reward. Every reward was tied to a physical capture, so partners received location-verified engagement — not impressions.
Future Outlook
The Dallas World Cup activation is SeekAR's largest live proof point to date, building on earlier deployments including the 2025 NFL Draft and NBA Summer League. The roadmap continues toward larger multi-city campaigns, deeper partner redemption analytics, and faster campaign setup so brands can launch scavenger hunts in days — not months.
